What is Work-Life Balance?

Work-Life balance is the ability to manage all our responsibilities and tasks effectively, without hurting our personal time or experiencing excessive stress. It’s like, if you put your work and personal life on either side of the scale, neither side must have more weight. There’s no balance, if you become unsocialized and have no time to rest just because you’re busy. Work is just one aspect of our life; that’s why being able to dedicate time to family and friends in our free time without hurting the work, can be said living in a balanced life.

Why is it important?

Before I talk about the importance of work-life balance, I’d like to state the drawbacks of not having a balance, first.

As a person becomes busier, his health and mental state often can be affected. Resulting from work, starts with getting irregular sleep and eating patterns, leads up to nervous problems and weight loss in the long-run. Plus, in terms of mental health, excessive stress, constant worries and sometimes depression can be experienced.

Moreover, a person feels isolated as he becomes distant in social matters often citing the reason “I’m busy”. To avoid these facts, you need to maintain a balance to your physical and mental health.

How to manage it?

To talk about management, we need to think about FOUR main factors.

These are;

1. Home and Family

2. Health

3. Career

4. Community

If you can carefully balance all these factors, it’s called real balance. You shouldn't neglect work because of your health as you shouldn't neglect health because of your work.

In terms of ways to do a good balance,

1. Be good at time management.

Click here to read about time management in detail.

2. Leads a healthy lifestyle

It’s important to eat and sleep regularly. Becoming “Panda Eyes” because of often late-night talk is one of the unbalances.

3. Get a support system

There is no shame in getting help. It’s also important to avoid work-related stress by seeking the help you need, without pushing yourself to exhaustion by doing what you can’t.

Benefits of Work-Life Balance

As I mentioned earlier, if life becomes balanced, a person will be healthy and happy. To keep your mind and body healthy for the long term, we wish you to have good vibes and well-being days without doing anything exceedingly.
